One of the most popular rebuilds on the market today is the Caterpillar 6NZ C-15 engine. From 1998 to 2002, the 6NZ was manufactured by Caterpillar and has a reputation as a reliable engine.  We recently completed this CAT 6NZ rebuild and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

Starting with a Genuine Caterpillar Bronze Overhaul kit, we ‘ve rebuilt this 6NZ with OEM Caterpillar parts and quality aftermarket components. Both the engine and injector harnesses and sensors have been replaced with Genuine CAT OEM Parts. We’ve replaced the alternator, AC compressor, and fan hub. In addition,  the block, crankshaft, and connecting rods have been completely machined to ensure they remain within factory specifications.

Upgrades include a Full Tilt Ceramic Coated Exhaust Manifold, a Bully Dog Caterpillar Stage 1 Turbo, stainless steel braided fuel, coolant, and air compressor lines, and an upgraded fuel pump and spring and pressure regulators. In addition, the stock injectors have been replaced with CAT® OEM injectors designed to provide a higher flow rate and added durability for longevity and performance. In addition, a serpentine belt conversion has been installed for ease of maintenance, reduced slippage, as well as better contact with the pulleys. All remaining components, including the air compressor, starter, and ECM, have been reconditioned and/or verified to be in proper working order.

Finally, the head and engine fixings are finished in a chrome and black powder coating. Caterpillar yellow enamel paint has been applied to the rest of the engine. The CAT Yellow, the chrome and black powder coated fixings… this CAT 6NZ looks positively stunning! The photos don’t do it justice.
